18-20 August 2014: 13th IEEE International Conference on COGNITIVE INFORMATICS & COGNITIVE COMPUTING

SS4: Special Session/Workshop on Computational Psychoanalysis

Special Session 4 in IEEE ICCI*CC 2014
13th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics & Cognitive Computing
August 18‐20, 2014, London South Bank University, London, UK

Call for Papers

The aim of this special session is twofold. The first aim is to advance new computational, mathematical and other theoretical foundations for methodology relating to our understanding of human cognition and consciousness. The second aim is to have methodological innovation solidly grounded in application fields, that include in particular psychoanalysis and psychology. Significant achievements to date in this area include study of quantum‐like behaviour of the brain, related to cognitive and subcognitive times scales; information modelling through p‐adic number theory and ultrametric topology; and relating data modelling and analytics to the methodology and practical work of eminent Chilean psychoanalyst, Ignacio Matte Blanco. A non‐exclusive list of topics is as follows.

  1. Psychological and psychoanalytical dynamical modelling.

  2. Quantum cognition, quantum models of reasoning.

  3. Information dynamics in cognition.

  4. Ultrametrics in psychoanalytic modelling.

  5. Computation in cognition, consciousness, the subconscious, memory.

  6. Applications in health and medicine, education, criminology.

  7. Big data and data analytics relating to the human sciences and the social sciences, including

    literature, art, creativity.

Paper Submission

An electronic copy of papers in PDF format in English should be submitted via https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iccicc2014 by April 1, 2014 with detailed information of author(s). Full papers should be around 6‐8 pages in length in IEEE double column format as posted in the web site (http://www.ucalgary.ca/icci_cc/ICCICC2014). Short papers (4‐5 pages) that report industrial experience, case studies, work in progress, or graduate students' research may also be considered. A copy of your paper should also be sent to the session organizers. Submissions must be identified by “SS4:” in front of your paper’s title.
